Not necessarily. Spectrally selective film separates heat from light, so you can cut solar gain substantially while keeping a light interior. Dark shades exist for privacy, but they are a separate decision from heat performance.

It depends on glass area, orientation, and how hard your air conditioning currently works. West and east-facing glazing shows the biggest change because that is where low-angle sun drives peak load. A dealer survey gives you a modelled figure for your building rather than a generic percentage.
No, and no reputable supplier should suggest otherwise. Safety and security film holds fragments together and resists repeated impact, which delays forced entry and reduces flying-glass injury. It is a retention layer, not ballistic protection.
